Does less data movement = better data governance?

I think it can certainly help, but I'd like your opinion too.

With no data being copied or imported, knowledge workers like me have a more reliable view of the data and it is always 100% up-to-date. That leads to better trust of the information as we all know it's the most recent and hasn't been manipulated along the data wrangling stages often present in BI pipelines.

    @joe_warbington less movement = better governance, but i'm not sure that = 100% up-to-date. potentially, quite the opposite if it's stale because there is less movement? the data maybe true and the latest available, but that doesn't mean it's up-to-date.
